Breaking down the process into nodes is more useful than remembering a total project duration. Each node should have clear confirmations.
1、 Requirement communication. Confirm the style, reference sample, target price, and quantity range. In this step, it is necessary to clarify where the reference diagram can and cannot be changed, otherwise the sampling direction will be wrong from the beginning.
2、 Fabric and color card confirmation. Confirm the weight, composition, hand feel, and color. The color chart should be viewed under a standard light source to avoid color discrepancies between different devices.
3、 Pattern making and sample design. Confirm the size chart, pattern size, and upper body effect. Suggest wearing out the pattern at this step to see, don’t wait for the bulk order.
4、 Process samples. Produce separate samples for key processes such as printing, embroidery, and washing. Separate confirmation of process samples and pattern samples makes it easier to locate problems.
5、 Prenatal samples. This is the final confirmation before mass production, and once approved, production will be carried out according to this standard. Suggest keeping one pre production sample as a benchmark for subsequent acceptance.
6、 Mass production and quality inspection. Confirm the inspection standards, sampling methods, and defect handling rules. What to do if the spot check fails? It’s best to write it clearly before confirming the order.
7、 Shipment and packaging. Confirm the packaging method, labeling, and packing requirements to avoid discovering a mismatch between packaging and sales channels just before shipment.
Each step has clear confirmations, which can prevent risks before mass production. On the other hand, if there are only three concepts of sampling, production, and shipment, the problem will almost certainly arise in the last step.
