The difference in the workmanship of streetwear is often not whether it is done well or not, but whether the other party understands what you want. The following five suggestions should be confirmed before quoting.
1、 Printing ability. Request to view the layout and paper samples for retention, rather than just looking at finished product photos. Factories with independent layout rooms can convert designs into mass-produced paper patterns. If this step is not done well, all subsequent processes will amplify errors.
2、 Is the fabric source transparent. Please clarify the weight, composition, and place of origin, and provide a fabric sample card instead of just answering pure cotton. The weight directly determines the drape and price, and ambiguity usually means that the fabric will be replaced during mass production.
3、 Whether the key process is self owned. Whether printing, embroidery, and washing are self owned or outsourced determines the stability of scheduling and quality. The more external links there are, the more difficult it is to trace back when problems arise.
4、 Is there a record of quality inspection. Request to see the inspection report template: which parts to inspect, what standards to follow, and how to handle the defect rate. Just answering that we will all check is basically equivalent to having no process.
5、 Communication efficiency. This is the most easily overlooked point. The modification frequency during the sampling stage is very high. Whether it can be explained clearly in one go and improved in several rounds directly determines the product’s launch time.
One final reminder: Do not use price as the only filtering criterion. Low prices often come from fabric replacement, outsourcing processes, or omitting quality inspections, and these costs are ultimately borne by the brand.
